Council Membership

2016 – 2017 Student Council


President: Conor O. (Grade 8)

Vice President: Rose B. (Grade 7)

Secretary: Wednesday C. (Grade 8)

Treasurer: Robert H. (Grade 6)

Class Representatives: Trevor L. (Grade 8), Mary Kate T. (Grade 7), and Ellie W. (Grade 6).

These students will serve as leaders on student council, and are given the following duties and responsibilities:

The PRESIDENT will:

  • Be a positive roll model for both the members and all of the students of St. Agnes School.
  • Conduct the monthly Student Council Meetings.
  • Lead group discussions and direct conversations to keep everyone on task.
  • Participate in all student council project and social activities.
  • Represent the student council at school functions when needed.
  • Promote student council activities.
  • Manage the voting process for events and activities to ensure fairness, accuracy, and integrity of the council.
  • Be an active listener and a fair and impartial leader.
  • Must have the proven leadership skills.

The VICE PRESIDENT will:

  • Set an example for both the membership and all of the students of St. Agnes School.
  • Conduct the monthly Student Council Meetings in the absence of the President.
  • Participate in all student council projects and social activities.
  • Represent the student council at school functions when needed.
  • Promote student council activities.
  • Help the President manage the voting process for events and activities to ensure fairness, accuracy, and integrity of the council.
  • Must have strong leadership skills.

The TREASURER will:

  • Keep an accurate account of all funds raised by activities.
  • Give a monthly statement of the student account to council members.
  • Keep accurate records of events and fundraisers.
  • Assist in organizing all events that the treasurer will have to monitor/keep account of funds.
  • Represent the student council at school functions when needed.
  • Promote student council activities.

The SECRETARY will:

  • Keep accurate record of minutes at all student council meetings.
  • Report the minutes of the previous meeting.
  • Send out thank you letters when applicable.
  • Represent the student council at school functions when needed.
  • Promote student council activities.
